Fergus man charged with sexual assault of a minor
Police say they're not identifying accused in order to protect victim
CENTRE WELLINGTON – A Fergus man is accused of sexually assaulting a minor following an incident here earlier this week.
Wellington County OPP officials say that on March 17 police "received a report of a sexual assault that occurred at an address within Centre Wellington the day prior."
A 46-year-old Fergus man was charged with sexual interference, sexual exploitation and sexual assault on a person under the age of 16.
He was released and is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
"The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim," police stated.
