Fergus Highland Rugby’s first Robbie Burns night

FERGUS – On Jan. 25 more than 80 people packed the clubhouse for Fergus Highland Rugby’s first-ever Robbie Burns night. Similar events are celebrated annually around the world, commemorating the life, times and works of Burns, Scotland’s national bard and author of poems and songs like Auld Lang Syne and Address to a Haggis. Presented in conjunction with the Grand Celtic Pipe Band, the evening featured a traditional Scottish supper, including haggis, neeps and tatties, and roast beef, with crannochan and sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
