Fergus Grand Theatre 2019-20 season kicks off with 6 Guitars

FERGUS – The first show in Strings … and Things, the Fergus Grand Theatre 2019-2020 presenting series, is the hilarious one-man show 6 Guitars, featuring musician/comedian Chase Padgett.

The show rolls in for one performance only on Oct.  17 at 8pm.

In the show, Padgett portrays six unique guitar players, each representing their own style of music.

As each character shares the anecdotes and songs that define their relationship to music the audience is treated to breathtaking musicianship, beautiful storytelling, and top notch comedy all at once.

Its unique but universal message connects to any musician or music lover regardless of one’s age, background or favourite genre. This show truly has something for everyone.

“I love shows that combine music and comedy,” said Fergus Grand Theatre coordinator Eric Goudie.

“They aren’t always easy to find, so I’m thrilled that we get to bring a performer of this calibre to our community.”

6 Guitars is just the first in a series of shows in the FGT presenting series.

Up next is Sultans of String, a genre-hopping trio who play Celtic reels, flamenco, Gypsy-jazz, Arabic, Cuban, and South Asian rhythms, and much, much more, coming in on Nov. 23.

They will be followed by The Great Canadian Fiddle Show, Six String Nation, and bluegrass harmonica virtuoso Mike Stevens in 2020.

A five show-subscription is available for $125 and single tickets are $35 each, available in the box office, by phone at 519-787-1981, or online at www.fergusgrandtheatre.ca.
