Fergus Curling Club hosts doubles curling
Doubles Curling - A different way of curling sweeping the country is called “doubles curling.” In this game only two people play against two others. While some of the rules are the same, others are different, such as curling with six rocks instead of eight. The Fergus Curling Club embraced the new game on Feb. 22 for a chance to win the Brian Bessey bonspiel trophy. This year the winners, from the local club, were a quarter point over a team from Milton. Bryce McGowan and Karen McMillan came out on top and Donna Bessey, left, presented the trophy.
