Fergus Curling Club hosts bonspiel in honour of founder Hugh Black
Season’s first – The Fergus Curling Club had its first bonspiel on Nov. 12. This one is named after the founder of Fergus and the curling club, Hugh Black. It was started a few years ago by Black family descendants, from left: great grandson Adam, granddaughter Laurie, grandfather Bert, grandson and Senator Rob and great grandson Tayler. Just before the curlers go out on the ice, members of the Fergus Pipe Band lead the procession of curlers down the ice to start the game. Photo by Bill Longshaw
