FCS investigates after boy found wet, cold in the rain

Family and Children’s Services (FCS) is investigating after a child was found alone and in the rain here on Sunday.

Wellington County OPP officers responded to a call for assistance on Fergus Street South in Mount Forest on June 24 at about 9:30am.

Police say officers and paramedics found a small boy “under-dressed and alone in the rain.”

“He was unharmed, however he was transported to a local hospital as a precaution,” states an OPP press release.

“The child’s guardians were located and brought to the hospital.”

FCS was notified and is investigating how the boy left the family home on his own.
