FBI thriller coming to Century Church Theatre
Century Theatre Guild is presenting The Premature Corpse, a thriller by Mike Johnson with the opening on March 11.
Evan and Francine Jorris (Doug MacDougall and Brigida Scholten) are being guarded in a motel in Connecticut, under the surveillance of FBI agent, Bert Marshak (Peter King).
Evan testified against his mob boss at trial, but the mobster was found not guilty. Evan is now afraid for his life, and Francine is furious at the disruption in her life.
Tension is rife, as plots and subplots evolve until nothing and no one are quite who or what they seem.
Maclean Edwards, Kathy Venneman and Geri Vanderende round out the cast of plotters and schemers, with Nick Forrow directing, Martyn Worsnop as stage manager and Shayna Neal as assistant stage manager.
The ensemble is drawn from Erin, Hillsburgh, Mississauga, Meadowvale, Georgetown, Guelph and Orton. The play is entered into the ACT-CO Festival, and will be adjudicated on March 13.
The Guild has won a number of awards in recent festivals, and this promises to be another mysterious and suspenseful production, officials state in a press release.
The play runs from March 11 to 20, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2:30pm at the Century Church Theatre in Hillsburgh.
