Farmers’ market holds fundraiser for centre; to run this Saturday

The Community Resource Centre has been given the opportunity to hold a fundraising barbecue on Satur-day at the Elora Farmers’ Market.

The goal of the barbecue is to raise money to provide children in surrounding communities with back-to-school supplies. The centre is hoping to be able to supply backpacks filled with the essentials for 100 local children.

Visitors can enjoy a smashed egg sandwich and support the kids in see two organizations working together. The event will be taking place on June 28 from 9am to 1pm at the Elora Farmer’s Market. It is located just east of the Elora General Store, at 15 Mill Street East.

The Elora Farmers’ Market was established three years ago to meet the "buy local buy fresh" desires of the community.  It has been dubbed “the prettiest market in Ontario” because of its setting by the shores of the Grand River. The market is a place for people to come and meet their neighbours while they do their weekly shopping and munch on something homemade and delectable. More products are to be added this year.
