The Ascher family has raised $2,800 for breast cancer research after competing in an Avon website competition.

Nick Ascher had his hair dyed pink with the breast cancer logo by his sister, Kate, who works at Kimberly’s in the north end of Fergus.

They posted two pictures on the Avon website and for each vote the photos received, Avon donates $2 for breast cancer research.

The family’s goal was to receive over 1,000 votes, and they also collected donations at Kimberly’s. The $2,800 was the total they raised from the effort.
