A local family is collecting toys to take to Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton this Christmas.

“My hope is to alleviate the extra stress placed on parents’ shoulders mentally and financially by helping to make their children’s Christmas a little bit more magical,” said Paige Christopher.

“I know how much doubt and disbelief there can be in a parent’s mind when they are going through something so life shattering, let alone at such a magical time in the year.”

Stage Presence School of Dance in Fergus, at 7-920 St. David Street North, will have a collection box for new unwrapped toy donations.

The dance school is open from 5 to 10pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 4:30pm on Saturday.

Christopher said donors can also call 519-835-2481 and she will pick up toys.

While donations for all ages of children will be accepted, Christopher said Ronald McDonald House often struggles to find items for pre-teen and teenage boys.

Donations will be accepted until Nov. 19, when the family is plans to deliver the toys to Ronald McDonald House.
