Fall Fest fundraiser in October
The Harriston Royal Canadian Legion Branch 296 is planning a Fall Fest the first weekend of October.
The group recently applied to the town to extend its liquor licence to the Legion parking lot.
The event runs on Oct. 4 from noon to 9pm.
Council has no concerns with allowing the request.
Mayor David Anderson noted the Legion had recently held a garage sale “and the traffic was incredible.”
Council subsequently supported a request from the same Legion that Sept. 20 to 26 be proclaimed as Legion Week.
Anderson said the endorsement supports the Legion in its proclamation.
