Earth Day – Many residents and community groups participated in Erin’s annual cleanup day on April 23. Armed with garbage bags and community pride, hordes of volunteers pitched in to de-clutter the town’s parks, sidewalks and ditches. Organizer Jen Edwards said that despite a brief period of rain, the park saw a steady flow of participants arriving at McMillan park throughout the day to fill up the dumpster bin on hand for the occasion. Available activities included a barbecue sponsored by the Erin Optimists, crafts for kids, learning about electric cars, chatting with Mermaid Jacy and free tree saplings from Green Legacy.
