Erin woman wins $63,000 in lottery
Candice McIvry, of Erin, was overwhelmed when she realized her Lotto 6/49 ticket matched five out of six numbers and the bonus number from the Dec. 19 draw.
“My heart started pounding,” McIvry told Ontario Lottery and Gaming staff in Toronto when she collected her second prize of $63,580.
“It was so unexpected. It feels great.”
McIvry, 54, is a credit manager.
She plans to share her windfall with her family, and buy a vehicle.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Eganville Plaza on Alice Street in Eganville.
OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities.
Since 1975, OLG lotteries, casinos, slots, and resort casinos have generated more than $23-billion for the benefit of the province of Ontario.
Gaming proceeds support Ontario’s hospitals, amateur sport, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
