Erin remembers veterans and those who have fallen

ERIN - The Town of Erin and Erin Branch 442 of the Royal Canadian Legion are remembering veterans in various ways this Remembrance Day.

The Veteran street banners were put up on Oct. 25. They will remain on display until the week following Remembrance Day.

In addition, the recently verified names of those who lost their lives in service to Canada were added to the cenotaph. These include :

- from the First World War: Thomas Bird, Joseph Waldock, Elmer Wright and Edwin Wright; and

- from the Second World War: Douglas and Gordon Reed.

Also, the town and the Legion have replaced previous street signs with new street signs marked with a red poppy, rank and first name in recognition of Erin veterans.

These streets include: Anderson Close at Ospringe, Covert Lane in Hillsburgh and Inkster Drive in Erin. More designated streets are pending.
