Erin man found on road airlifted to hospital

A local senior was transported to Toronto hospital after he was found lying on a road here on Thursday afternoon.

On Feb. 5 at about 5:05pm, Wellington County OPP officers responded to the 6th Line near Sideroad 27 in Erin for a 77-year-old male injured on the roadway.

"A neighbour found the man and contacted emergency services," police said in a press release.

"He had finished clearing snow at a nearby residence and while heading home, he lost control for unknown reasons, of his farm tractor causing him to fall to the road."

Police say the tractor travelled off the roadway and into a snowbank, but there was no damage and no other vehicles involved.

The man, who suffered "serious injuries," was transported by ambulance and then airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital.
