Two town employees were recognized on Tuesday night for 25 years of service.

Graham Smith, currently the manager of Centre 2000, started working for the town on Sept. 1, 1985, and finance director Sharon Marshall’s first day with the municipality was Nov. 25 of the same year.

Mayor Rod Finnie thanked both staff members for their commitment to the town and for going “above and beyond the call of duty.” He said it’s nice to see people willing to make that kind of commitment to the town.

In thanking Smith, Finnie said the facility manager is likely familiar to anyone involved with hockey or movies or anything at all to do with the Centre 2000.

The mayor also recognized the important role played by Marshall over the years.

“It’s nice to know we’re in good hands when the money is being looked after,” Finnie said.

Both Marshall and Smith were presented with gifts from the municipality.
