The Elora Poetry Centre recently announced a number of coming events.

June 14 is the Environmental Sculpture Festival. The event begins at noon, and the public is invited to mingle with sculptors and artists from the area who have created works from the debris left behind by winter. Stone soup, cookies and cider will be provided by Dar’s Delicatessen.

Then at 4pm, West Meets East, a collection of paintings, prints, lithographs, etchings, ceramics and first editions by famous Japanese artists in collaboration with the poets of the ‘50s and ‘60s will be on display. Wine and snacks will be provided.

June 28 is the reading of the Fish Quill Poets: Leigh Kotsilidis, Linda Besner, Asa Boxer, Jessica Moore, Grey Kingdom and Abigail Lapell. Opening and closing will include a performance by the Good Hearted Women singers.

The event begins at 3pm with refreshments served at 5pm, and Peter Skoggard’s Tree of Inspiration presentation at 6pm, with musical settings of poems by Asa Boxer and others.

A supper of finger food and wine will be served at 7:30pm.
