Elora Gorge Karate Dojo hosts annual tournament

On March 23, Elora Gorge Karate Dojo hosted its 2nd annual tournament as part of the IMGKA.

Over 100 competitors from more than a dozen Dojos across Ontario tested their skills in 30 divisions including: Kata, Team Kata and Kobudo.

Students from Elora who placed in their divisions are:

–Junior Kids White & Yellow Belt Kata: Sean Kirtz, 3rd;

–Junior Kids Orange Belt Kata: Mya Krabbe, 3rd;

–Kids Senior White Yellow & Orange Belt: Joel Schieck,  2nd;

–Kids Intermediate Green Belt Kata: Brayden Fletcher,  2nd;

–Kids Intermediate Blue Belt Kata: Madelyn Richardson, 1st;

–Senior Green  & Blue Belt Kata: Katrina Acheson, 1st, Andrew Gardner, 3rd;

–Junior Kids Brown Belt : Natalia Van Esch, 1st;

–Kata & 2nd Kobudo; Kids Orange & Green Team Kata: Madelyn, Rebekah, Brayden & Cole, 2nd;

–Kids Blue & Brown Team Kata: Natalia, Katrina & Adrian, 1st;

–Adult White & Yellow Belt Kata: Steve Chalkley, 1st, Gordon Denton, 3rd;

–Adult Orange & Green  Belt Kata: Dennis Reed, 1st;

–Adult Blue & Brown Belt Kata: Ethan Aguirre, 1st, Jarrett Hummel, 3rd;

–Shodan: Jake Chalkley, 2nd; Kata, 3rd; Kobudo (Shodan & up)

–Adult White, Yellow & Orange Weapons: Zalma Gonzales-Castillo, 1st;

–Adult White, Yellow & Orange Team Kata: Dennis, Steve & Rick, 1st;

–Adult Shodan & up Team Kata: Jake, Astrid & Bryce 1st, Astrid, Francesca & Blaire 2nd;

–Master’s Division Kata (Shodan and up 50 yrs+): Jim Kurtz, 3rd;
