Elliott, Doris Marie (nee Shewan); of Palmerston passed away peacefully at Royal Terrace Nursing Home, Palmerston on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in her 87th year. Wife of the late Harold Fair Elliott (1994). Dear mother of William and Marie Elliott of R.R.# 2 Gorrie, Robert and Linda Elliott of R. R. #1 Gowanstown, Jack and Bernadette Elliott of Alberta, Elizabeth and Gordon Bell of Kurtzville, Ron Elliott and friend Melinda of Palmerston, Katharyn and Greg Robinson of Palmerston and Don Elliott of Kitchener. Loving Grandmother of 14 Grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by one nephew Brian Shoemaker and his wife Linda and their family of Drayton, as well as many friends. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Elizabeth (Fischer) Shewan, sister Lyla Shoemaker, brother Gordon in infancy and brother-in-law Carl Shoemaker. The family received friends on Friday, May 22 at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston. The Funeral Service was held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday May 23, 2009 at 11am. Interment Palmerston Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Palmerston United Church, the Royal Terrace Residents Council or the Palmerston Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
