ELORA – The band Elliot Brood will be performing at the Elora Legion on May 8 as part of their Ballads and Badlands tour.

The group was formed in Toronto and have been playing together since 2002, playing previously at the Elora Legion back in 2017.

“We’re touring a lot of smaller markets and we’re really excited about returning to Elora,” said band member Casey Laforet. “The energy in the Legion is just great.”

The band consists of Mark Sasso on lead vocals, guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica and kazoo, Casey Laforet on guitar, lead vocals, backing vocals, bass pedals, keys and ukulele, and Stephen Pitkin on percussion, sampler and backing vocals.

Laforet describes the band’s music as “old country rock.”

The group has released over 10 albums, winning the 2006 Ambassador – Galaxy Rising Star Award, the 2011 CBC Radio Three Bucky Award for Most Canadian Song Northern Air, the 2012 XM/Sirus Indies – Favorite Folk/Roots Artist of the Year and the 2013 Juno Awards Roots and Traditional Album Of The Year.

Tickets to the performance are available at elliotbrood.com. The performance is a 19 and older event and will run for over four hours.

Merch will be available for purchase at the performance.
