ELECTIONS 2010: Even more candidates in North Wellington

The list keeps growing. As the Oct. 25 municipal elections near, the list of local candidates continues to grow.

Wellington North

Now, in addition to the numerous candidates for mayor, all but one council position are being contested.

Running for Mayor: Ross Chaulk, Mike Broomhead (incumbent), Janice Lewis, and Raymond Tout.

Council Ward 1: Derek Bridgwater, Shawn McLeod, and Dan Yake (incumbent).

Council Ward 2: Sherry Burke and Ron Forrest.

Council Ward 3: Lisa Hern, Mark Goetz, Steven Leask, and Kevin Bodz.

Council Ward 4: Barry Dishart, George Johnstone, Andy Lennox, and John Matusinec (incumbent).

Town of Minto

As election day draws near, two more members of the current Minto council plan to run once more.

Running for Mayor: David Anderson (incumbent) and George Bridge

Deputy-mayor: Judy Dirksen (incumbent).

Councillors (elected at large): Ron Elliott, John Brown, Ronald Faulkner, Glenn Bell, Rick Hembly (incumbent), Dave Turton (incumbent) and Mary-Lou Colwell.

Wellington County council

Ward 1: Mark MacKenzie (incumbent)

Ward 3: Walter Trachsel (incumbent) and Gary Williamson.

Ward 4: Jim Heinbuch and Lynda White (incumbent).

Upper Grand District School Board

Trustee for Wellington North, Mapleton and Minto: Bruce Schieck (incumbent).
