ECT holding auditions for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

ELORA – The Elora Community Theatre (ECT) will be hosting auditions for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!

Written by Barbara Robinson, the play will be directed by Deb Stanson and Jim Monaghan.

“In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids – probably the most inventively awful kids in history,” ECT officials say.

“You won’t believe the mayhem – and the fun -–when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on.

“This delightful comedy is adapted from the best-selling novel, and has become a holiday staple.”

The play features plenty of great roles for children and adults, some favorite Christmas Carols, and a lot of laughs, officials say.

Auditions will be held Sept. 7 and 8 at 7pm.

Audition will be a cold read from the script so no preparation is necessary.

Cast requirements include 20 children/youth aged eight to 18 (male and female), six females aged 35 to 70, and four males aged 35 to 70.

Email or call Deb Stanson to reserve your audition time at debstanson@gmail.com or 519-496-6481.

Rehearsals start Sept. 14 and show dates are Dec. 9  to 11 and 16  to 18

Tickets are now available online at fergusgrandtheatre.ca or by calling the box office at 519-787-1981.
