ECT auditions ‘Little House on the Prairie, the musical’

ELORA – Elora Community Theatre (ECT) is announcing auditions for Little House on the Prairie, the musical.

This show was to be performed in 2020, and due to COVID-19 was suspended until now and will be recast for performances in October of this year.

Auditions for ECT’s production of Little House on the Prairie, the musical will take place June 20 and 21 starting at 7pm at the Central Pentecostal Church, 7674 Colborne Street, Elora.

Call backs, if needed, will be held June 27.

Auditions are by appointment. To book a time email Jim Monaghan at heartjim@hotmail.com

ECT is looking for:

– 14 children/teens (must be at least 10 years old);

– five or six men (age not a factor); and

– three or four women (age not a factor).

ECT officials note anyone auditioning must be fully vaccinated.

The audition will include singing, and a (light) dance component.

Officials ask that those auditioning bring a recording (and a device to play it on) of a song of your choice, in any style of musical theatre, and wear appropriate shoes and clothing for the light dance component.

Those chosen must pay a nominal Elora Community Theatre membership fee which is required for insurance purposes, and be available to rehearse at the Central Pentacostal Church in Elora on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

Individuals selected must also let the team know of any conflicts going forward (there will be some rehearsals the start of July, and rehearsals will be full on starting the last two weeks of August).

Cast members must be available from Oct. 15 to 30 for performances. For more information, contact Deb Stanson at debstanson@gmail.com or 519-496-6481.
