ECKERMAN, Ernie On Sunday September 24, 2017 at the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, with his daughters at his side, after a short battle with cancer at the age of 72. Ernie was the loving father of Tracy Eckerman, Tara Melville (Brad) and Tammy Eckerman-Bradley (Brett). Adoring Bada of Jacob, Tyler, Lucas, Jenna, Paulina, Beckham and Bowie and loved by Vivian Eckerman. Ernie will be remembered by his sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Ernie loved delivering for Venice Pizza but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Ernie’s daughters would like to thank Dr. Graczyk, Dr. Leonard, Dr. Needham-Nethercott and the ICU nurses at the Grand River Hospital for their compassionate care and support. Friends are invited to visitation at Butcher Family Funeral Home, 5399 Main Street, South, Erin on Friday September 29, 2017 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Prayer and Eulogies will take place at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Donations in Ernie’s memory can be made to the Grand River Hospital Foundation.
