Eccles, Kenneth Smith; of Guelph passed away peacefully with family members by his side at the Guelph General Hospital on Wednesday, January 14th in his 90th year. Survived by his beloved wife Mary (Switzer) of 63 years. Loving and devoted father of Morris (Carole) of Huntsville, Betty Lou of St. Catharines and Karen Zago (Dan) of Guelph. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, David, Sarah, Cassandra, Tamara, Chad, Robert and Stephanie.  Great Grandfather of eight grandchildren.  Brother-in-law of Grace and Doris Eccles, Thelma, Betty and Ila Switzer. Predeceased by brothers Lloyd, Bob and several brothers-in-law. Ken was a farmer in West Luther Township until moving to Guelph in 1968 where he was employed at the Ontario Veterinary College until his retirement in 1984. He will be remembered for his love of music, playing his banjo at various locations, including Nursing Homes and Churches. He also loved fishing, gardening and playing cards. Friends and relatives called at the Wall-Custance Funeral home and Chapel January 16th and the funeral was held at Westminister St Paul’s Presbyterian Church on January 17th. A reception followed in the church hall. Spring interment will be held at Mount Forest Cemetery. A tree will be planted in Memory of Ken in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service will be held on September 20, 2009 at 2:30pm.
