Dump truck takes out hydro pole

On July 16 at about 11:26am Wellington County OPP officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a dump truck and a hydro pole on Wellington Road 39 just north of Wellington Road 30.

Police say a dump truck travelling southbound on Wellington Road 39 left the roadway, entered the west ditch, crossed over to the east ditch and then struck a hydro pole.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the collision, but the damage to the pole caused a disruption to power in the area for a couple dozen Hydro One customers.

Wellington Road 39 between Wellington Roads 30 and 51 was closed for about six hours while police investigated and the power was restored.
