Driver charged in three-vehicle crash involving school bus

WELLINGTON NORTH – A local resident has been charged with careless driving in a three-vehicle crash involving a school bus that sent one person to hospital with serious injuries last week.

Police say emergency crews responded to a collision involving three vehicles on Wellington Road 16 at Line 10 at around 8:15am on Jan. 11.

An SUV, a car and a school bus with 12 students on board were involved, according to police.

A driver, the lone occupant of the car, was transported to hospital with serious injuries, and the driver of the SUV was treated by paramedics at scene.

Police say nobody on the school bus was injured.

On Jan. 19 police announced that a 65-year-old driver from Wellington North was charged with careless driving causing bodily harm.
