DOYLE, Gerald Patrick “Jerry”
Gerald Patrick “Jerry” Doyle passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the age of 66, at Hospice Wellington. Jerry will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Judy; his children, Nick Doyle, Kate Doyle, Sara Cherney, and Katie Cherney (Taylor Stevenson); and his cherished grandchildren, Riley, Norah, Claire, Kiaan, Levi, and Marley, who brought him so much joy. He is also lovingly remembered by his father, Don Doyle; his siblings, Cathy (Mike) Tremaine, Sue Miller (Frank Rider), Tom (Peggy) Doyle, Linda Trilesky, and Ken Trilesky; and his sister-in-law, Lynmarie Parker. Jerry was predeceased by his mother, Mary Doyle (2024). He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Jerry spent a great deal of his life doing drywall and taping. He was so proud to point out the houses and buildings around town he had worked on. Later he went on to work in Long Term Care, in Environmental Services and worked his way up to manager of that department. He primarily worked for Schlegel Villages where he enjoyed chatting and bringing a smile to staff and residents. Jerry was well known for his sense of humour. Jerry also spent many years volunteering with the Fergus Fall Fair. His distinctive voice could be heard encouraging the kids in the pedal pull. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Lund, Jerry’s nurse Sam for her exceptional care, and all of the nurses and PSWs who supported Jerry and his family. Special thanks are also given to Hospice Wellington—words cannot express our gratitude for the compassion and care provided. Vigil prayers will be held on Friday, January 30th at 7:00pm, followed by visitation from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus. Visitation will also take place on Saturday, January 31st from 1:00pm to 1:45pm. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 2:00pm. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Wellington and Aboyne Rural Hospice. Arrangements are entrusted with the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home. www.grahamgiddyfh.com
