Doors Open Fergus-Elora had 3,500 visitors

On June 25, residents and visitors here again participated  at the annual celebration of heritage, architecture, trails and culture that is Doors Open Fergus-Elora.

The event, now in its fourth year, had success – even with less than favourable weather. This year featured 15 sites. Visitor surveys showed the community had much to offer.

With over 3,500 visitors exploring all of the sites, the Wellington County Museum tours of the tunnels and attic proved popular, as did the opportunity to see the new OPP operations centre.

Not only were there 15 sites on display, but downtown Fergus had the Riverwalk Festival, featuring live music in the Fergus Grand Theatre and art on display in Templin Gardens. Additional events including the Doors Open historical walking tours, the Herb, Health and Garden Fair at the museum and Elora culinary walking tours.
