Donors sought, tickets on sale for DU dinner

It is a tough winter but the weather fails utterly from keeping Harvey Miller from making his appointed rounds.

Miller is busy these days selling tickets and looking for sponsors for the 23rd annual Ducks Unlimited dinner and auction that will be held in Fergus at the Sportsplex on March 28 this year.

The event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the year for conservation projects, and Miller has been there since the beginning.

Admission to the event includes dinner, membership in Ducks Unlimited Canada, four issues of its magazine each year, and an opportunity to win raffles and a door prize, as well as the right to bid on huge numbers of auction goods that are donated for the cause each year.

Miller said that the donations are coming along, but he is always interested in speaking with new donors.

He said that anyone wanting tickets or to donate can call him at 519-843-3431.

As well, he noted, Grand River Troutfitters at the Fergus Marketplace also has tickets available for the event.

Tickets are $35 per person or $65 per couple.
