Donkey celebration running this Saturday

The first annual Don­key celebration is on Side­road 15 here on Aug. 22.

Hosted by the Ontario Miniature Donkey Association, the aim of the day is to raise funds for the East Wellington Community Services, formerly known as EWAG.

At the same time, the group is taking the opportunity to in­troduce the public to the world of miniature donkeys.

OMDA is a non-profit orga­nization, founded to promote the miniature Mediterranean breed, and to provide an edu­cational forum for owners, breeders, and anyone just in­terested in the affectionate, long eared creatures.

Miniature donkeys thrive on human companionship.

Just some of the activities planned are raffles, face paint­ing, donkey rides, a barbecue, wagon rides, colouring con­tests, crafts, balloons and  more.
