Doig, Eva Bernice (nee: Jackson); Passed away peacefully, after suffering a stroke at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home on Friday, January 2, 2009 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late William Earl Doig (Bus) (1993). Loving mother of William G. (Bill) and his wife Brenda of Fergus and Mary Ellen and her husband Rick Johnston of Carleton Place. Dear grandmother of Gary Doig and his wife Sandy and Lee-Anne Doig of Guelph. Great grandmother of Jack and Nathan. Dear sister of Clarence Jackson and his wife Jean of Arthur and sister-in-law of Ev Jackson of Brampton. Predeceased by her parents George and Dorothy (Bicknell) Jackson and infant daughter as well as by her four brothers and four sisters. Eva was a long time employee of Moore Business Forms, loved a good game of euchre and enjoyed many years at the family cottage. At Eva’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. There will be a private memorial service at Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus, in the spring. Arrangements have been entrusted to Thomson Funeral Home (160 St. David Street N. 519-843-2380). As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to the Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home.
