Dog guide walk May 31 in Fergus

Fergus area residents will participate in the 30th annual Purina Walk for Dog Guides on May 31 at Forfar Ball Park.

The walk is open to all ages and all abilities for people walking with or without a dog.  For this walk 100 per cent of the proceeds go towards helping provide dog guides to Canadians with medical or physical disabilities.

Registration for the event for the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides begins at 12pm and the walk starts at 1pm.

To date this event has raised more than 12 million dollars providing dog guides to Canadians with medical or physical disabilities.

Each Dog Guide costs approximately $25,000 and these dogs are provided to clients at no cost.
