Dobbie, Robert. G. “Bob”; Born January 2nd, 1933 in Fergus, passed away December 16th at Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus, in his 80th year. Beloved husband to Lois Dobbie (nee: Matthews) for 56 years. Loving father to Larry (Anne) Dobbie and Barb (Gary) Robinson. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Dane (Caylin), Tyler, Kyle, Cassie (Chris) and Jordan. Survived by his brother James (Doreen) Dobbie and brother-in-law Lyle (Doris) Matthews. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Lily Dobbie, brothers Bill (Doreen) and George and sister Annie (Jim) Copeland. Bob was a member of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, The Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the Fergus Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Bob was also involved for many years as a lacrosse referee, hockey player and community volunteer. Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 19th, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus. A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 20th, 2012 in the funeral home chapel.
