Development proposal for Arthur draws positive reponse

KENILWORTH – While there were a few questions, Wellington North Mayor Andy Lennox said response to a proposal to build 70 residential units in downtown Arthur was “overwhelmingly positive.”

A Sept. 11 article in the Wellington Advertiser outlined the development proposal in downtown Arthur on the property of the former Queen’s Hotel.

On Sept. 23, Lennox told Wellington North councillors, “I have had a number of comments regarding the development proposal in Arthur on the 70 units, which (the) story has attracted the interest on.”

Lennox said, “The comments were resoundingly positive.

“There were some questions, but people were generally supportive of upgrading downtown Arthur with some housing units.”
