DE GROOT, Murk - Passed away peacefully at the Wellington Terrace in Fergus, on May 11th, 2017 in his 89th year. Loving father of Alice Forest (Glenn), Tina Benham (Paul), Wilma Dyson (Daniel), Mark de Groot (Lori) and Audrey Janeway. Caring grandfather to 16 and beloved great grandfather of 10. Survived by his brother Uiltje (Geertje) and many family and friends in Canada and Fryslan. Murk was predeceased by his loving wife Akke (Dotinga) and his son Jimmy de Groot (1975). Funeral Service for Murk was conducted at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Monday, May 15th, 2017 at 12:00pm, with visitation from 10:00am. Reception followed service. Interment was at the Elora Cemetery, Elora, Ontario. Memorial donations can be directed to the Wellington Terrace Garden Fund
