Erin Council approved contracting Selog to install the well house data loggers at its April 21 meeting. The cost will be approximately $10,000 per well house with an estimated total of $40,000 plus HST for all four well houses in the town.

The town deviated from its purchasing and procurement policy and didn’t put the job out to tender because there are only certain suppliers who can provide the necessary equipment. Selog also has a working knowledge of the Erin water system and has been providing service since 2000.

Councillor Sammut asked whether there were other suppliers who could have provided a competitive quote but no one at the meeting could address the inquiry.
