On Nov. 16 at 7pm a portion of the Centre Wellington Sportsplex, in Fergus, will be rocking and bouncing with scores of lively dancers taking part in the initial Partners With Purpose Zumba Fundraiser.
Hosts and leaders for the evening will be Shakti Power Studio’s instructors Nerine Christie and Sarah Schleen. These two women have a definite heart for Haiti and the Haitian women and their families who are given another chance at life by Partners With Purpose (PWP) adult literacy and micro-credit programs.
Travelling to Haiti is not on everyone’s gameplan but the opportunity to help Haitians is within the ability of everyone. Plan to come on out and live the motto of the Shakti Power Studio “strengthen, ignite, breathe sweat” all for a very good cause.
One hundred per cent of proceeds from the night of dancing to up tempo music will be invested directly in PWP’s literacy and micro-credit activity in northern Haiti.
Tickets are $10 and each ticket purchased will be eligible for a door prize draw.
The prize is a package of Haitian hand-crafted items, 15 in all, with a total value of well over $85.
Organizers are expecting hundreds of dancers to flood in to the Sportsplex for some high energy fun for a valuable cause.
No experience is needed, all ages of either gender are welcome.
Funding for the continued functioning and growth of PWP programs is very much needed. Officials say this event will catapult this local registered charity to a whole new level of activity and purpose.
