Dance champ to be highlight of Gala Royale for Heart and Stroke

While the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Wellington Dufferin is asking Guelph residents to kick up their heels at an elegant fundraising evening, guests will also get a chance to enjoy the talents of a Canadian Latin Dance champion.

Sharone Levit, winner of Professional Latin and Professional Smooth at Montreal Extravaganza 2009, will be taking to the dance floor on Saturday Feb. 6 at the foundation’s Gala Royale. The evening is raising funds in support of the placement of life-saving automated external (AEDs) in priority locations throughout the community.

The Gala Royale is at Guelph Place. Tickets are $100, with all proceeds going to the purchase of AEDs

“We think having Sharone on board will be a real draw for guests,” said area manager Gina Sweet.

Levit and Julia Zavadska, will perform a Latin number and an international standard number.

In addition to the dinner and dance, a silent auction will be held. Prizes include dance lessons with Levit, framed prints from Ken Danby Studio, Mary Dawn Roberts, and Guelph Framing and Art Centre; a photo session from Trina Koster Photography; $500 worth of services from Mason Renovations; a pair of tickets for Cirque du Soleil, and more.

Tickets are currently on sale and more information about the event can be found at www.galaroyale.ca or by calling (519- 837-4858.
