Cyclist hit by SUV near Mount Forest
Police say 18-year-old cyclist was airlifted to trauma centre
MINTO – A cyclist was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle near Mount Forest on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, on Highway 89 between Wellington Road 6 and O'Dwyers Road in Minto, at about 2:30pm on May 24.
Wellington County OPP officials say an 18-year-old cyclist was hit by an SUV.
The cyclist "was transported to a local hospital and then airlifted to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries," states an OPP press release.
"The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital as a precaution."
Highway 89 was closed for several hours between Wellington Road 6 and O'Dwyers Road but has since re-opened.
