CWOSSA championships held in Guelph on Oct. 23

Centre Wellington District High School students visited the CWOSSA competitions at Our Lady of Lourdes in Guelph Oct. 23. Results are as follows:

- Eric Morris, 1st, midget boys;

- Tyler Young, 6th, midget boys;

- Midget boys team won. Members are Morris, Young, Jake Cousineau, Ryan Thring, Bryce Katerberg and alternate Liam Johnston qualified for OFSAA in Waterloo Nov. 1;

- Elizabeth Teasell, 4th, junior girls;

- The junior girls team did well and showed lots of improvement over the season. Team was Esmee Hotson, Teasell, Laura Hill, Cecilie Proctor and Anna Katerberg;

- Jessica Cuabu, 8th, senior girls;

- Senior girls team was first.  Team members were Cuabu, Christina Dolderman, Rebecca Pronk, Samarah Workman and Steph Goodyear. They will move on to OFSAA and take Laura Bender as their alternate;

- Mark Patton, 1st, senior boys; and

- Other members were Lorenzo Definis, Nick Vrins, Nate Scott, with Patton and Drew.

“All athletes were competitive in fields of over 200 athletes per division. The season is over for those athletes not advancing to OFSAA,” officials state. “It has been an amazing season. Most of these athletes will participate in track and field in the spring.”
