Thanksgiving food drive - The community leadership class at Centre Wellington District High School held a Thanksgiving food drive leading up to the holiday, collecting more than 1,400 items for the Centre Wellington Food Bank. The class that raised the most for the food bank will receive a free breakfast. Different groups in the class organized events such as a bake sale and filling a tractor with non-perishable food items and toiletries, all culminating on Oct. 11 with a staff-versus-students football game. To participate students had to donate $5 or five items of food to the food bank. At the game Grade 12 organizers, from left, front, Brooklynn Perry and Maddie Ongena; back, Mia Berry and Madison Hill, sold cookies and hot chocolate, also to raise money for the food bank.
