CWDHS boys hockey team makes school history

The Centre Wellington District High School boys hockey team won CWOSSA and qualified for OFSAA for the first time in school history this year.

Over the period of March 2 to 3 the team won CWOSSA, which is the regional championship with teams from Brantford, Kitchener-Waterloo and Orangeville.

At CWOSSA the team defeated Brantford Collegiate Institute and Vocational School 4-1, Bluevale Collegiate Institute from Kitchener 4-3, Preston High School from Cambridge 2-0 in the semi-finals and Orangeville District Secondary School 4-0 in the finals.

The boys then qualified for OFSAA where they made it to the quarter finals.

At OFSAA in round robin CWDHS defeated Notre Dame College School from Welland 4-3, Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School from Sarnia 4-1, and St. Charles College from Sudbury 8-2.

The team then lost in quarter finals to Abbey Park High School from Oakville, 2-1.
