ROCKWOOD - The Concerned Residents Coalition (CRC) has received a grant of $1,000 from the Wastewise organization in Georgetown.

It was presented to CRC on Feb. 6 at a Wastewise event celebrating initiatives promoting environmental sustainability.

In presenting the grant, Wastewise Board member Mike Foley stated: “Wastewise will continue to provide support until the environmental issues presented by the proposed Hidden Quarry are resolved.”

Wastewise has made annual grants to support CRC’s environmental work since 2013 when James Dick Construction Limited’s proposal for the Hidden Quarry near Rockwood was made public.

The Hidden Quarry licencing and re-zoning applications will be reviewed at an LPAT hearing scheduled to begin May 21. CRC is a party at the Hearing.

Wastewise is a community resource centre for Halton Hills.
