NEUSTADT – The Saugeen Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and Bruce Community Futures Development Corporation (Bruce CFDC) have announced Beck Auto Group owner Craig Beck is the first “angel investor” for the Hawks’ Nest Competition.
The Hawks’ Nest is a Dragons Den inspired competition where new and existing businesses and entrepreneurs from Wellington North, Minto, Grey Bruce and the City of Owen Sound pitch their business ideas in an attempt to secure financial support from local “Hawk” investors.
On June 18, at the Hanover Civic Theatre, the final six adults and one youth will pitch their business ideas to the Hawks.

CRAIG BECK
This is Beck’s second time as a Hawk.
He is the principal owner of The Beck Auto Group, which incorporates Owen Sound Chrysler, Kincardine Chrysler, Port Elgin Chrysler, Montgomery Ford Kincardine, Montgomery Ford Lucknow.
Beck was born and raised in Fergus and now calls Owen Sound home.
He attended school in London, Ontario and began his career in accounting but made the move over to automotive early on.
Beck is married with two children and works alongside his wife Christi as owners of The Beck Auto Group.
The Beck Auto Group began over seven years ago.
“Craig believes strongly in giving back to the community and helping others succeed by providing opportunity and avenues for entrepreneurs and business owners to help them accomplish their goals,” Hawks’ Nest officials state.
“He is familiar with Hawks Nest and its previous years’ success and is excited to join us as an investor.”
The Hawks’ Nest will be announcing six local business leaders who have committed to invest a minimum of $5,000 on one or more of the finalists.
As well as possible financial support, “the finalists will leave with valuable feedback, coaching, mentorship and immeasurable exposure to kick start their business ideas,” officials state.
