County recognized for ‘Beyond Blue Box’ recycling campaign

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington County Solid Waste Services was awarded a Silver Promotion and Education Award on May 27 from the Municipal Waste Association.

The county received the award for its “Beyond Blue Box Transition” business recycling campaign.

“The team’s ongoing education and outreach efforts help residents and businesses make informed decisions and play an important role in the success of our waste diversion programs,” county solid waste services committee chair Steve O’Neill said in a statement.

The annual promotion and education awards recognize excellence in municipal communications and public education initiatives encouraging waste diversion and environmental stewardship, states a Wellington County news release.
