WELLINGTON COUNTY – In an effort to monitor COVID-19 impacts on local business, Wellington County is participating in a business survey being coordinated across southwestern Ontario.
“The information collected will be used by staff and shared in confidence with the Western Ontario Warden’s Caucus to gain a more fulsome regional perspective and provide some high level reporting so that we can advocate on your behalf with all levels of government,” county economic development officials state.
The survey, which can be found at wellington.ca, takes about five minutes to complete.
With many small business owners looking to speak to someone who can give guidance and up-to-date information on what is available to help them through current difficult times, the Business Centre Guelph Wellington continues to offer small businesses free one-hour consultations.

April 23 is the deadline for applications to Wellington County’s Keep Well – Emergency Business Sustainability Fund.
The fund, administered through Wellington-Waterloo Community Futures and the Saugeen Economic Development Corporation provides low-interest loans of up to $25,000 to Wellington County businesses to help support them during the economically challenging period brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
An April 14 Wellington County Economic Development newsletter notes no loan applications will be accepted after April 23.
