George Bridge re-elected to FCM board of directors

WELLINGTON COUNTY – County councillor and Minto Mayor George Bridge has been re-elected to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) board of directors for the 2021-22 term.

Bridge is one of 16 members representing the Ontario Caucus.

“I am honoured to be re-elected to the FCM national board of directors by my Ontario peers,” stated Bridge in a June 2 press release.

“It is a privilege to be an advocate for the residents of Ontario and Wellington County.

“I look forward to continuing to with other municipal leaders from across the country to tackle key issues we’re all facing.”

FCM’s board is comprised of elected municipal officials and affiliate members from all regions and various-sized communities throughout Canada.

Bridge has served as Minto mayor and a Wellington County councillor since 2010 and has served on the FCM Board of Directors since 2016.

This year, the FCM election was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
