County council to consider $800,000 tender for intersection improvements in Guelph/Eramosa
GUELPH – Wellington County’s roads committee, along with staff, are recommending county council approve an $817,000 tender for intersection improvements at Wellington Road 30 and Township Road 3 in Guelph/Eramosa.
According to an April 14 roads report, the work includes soil excavation, granular base, hot mix asphalt and pavement markings. Officials do not anticipate road closures.
The project received five bids ranging from $817,000 to $1.03 million.
Staff recommend awarding the contract to Guelph-based Capital Paving Inc., for $817,000 excluding HST. The highest bid came in at $1.03 million from St. Jacobs-based Steed and Evans Limited.
The total project will cost about $1.03 million due to professional and contingency fees.
If approved by county council at the end of the month, the project will be funded by the roads capital reserve ($835,000) and development charges ($200,000).
