Council okays $47,000 for medical clinic work

Mapleton council has approved several projects for the new community health clinic in Drayton, totalling $47,874.
The work, approved at the Nov. 13 meeting, includes security and telephone systems and flooring.
For the security system, the quote of $1,280 from Valu Guard Security Systems, of Heidelberg, was approved. The other quote was for $3,996 from Protector Security Sys tems, of Guelph.
The township will also have to pay ValuGuard $288 for annual monitoring.
Protector Security Systems had an identical yearly monitoring fee.
Two bids were received for the telephone system at the clinic – one from PhoneMaster Services, in Wallenstein, for
$8,750, and one from Wight man Telecom, of Clifford, for $10,917.
Council approved the quote from Phone Master.
Four very competitive bids were received for flooring at the clinic:
– $37,844, from Rob Carere Flooring, of Listowel;
– $38,824, from Zimmer man Custom
Flooring, of Elmira;
– $39,099 from Carere Flooring and Window, of Drayton; and
– $46,712 from Decortile, of St. Jacobs.
Council approved the bid by Rob Carere Flooring.
All the prices are exclusive of GST.
